So, I started on the 3DS with Colours! 3d. But then, Nintendo shut down the servers for 3ds, so I moved to Colours! L!ve on Switch. You haven’t updated In 3 years. 3, this caused your community to die off, it’s like you do not care about the people who bought this app anymore! You won’t even fix glitches, like the glitch where you use black and it shows up white, ridiculous! Even worse, I crash time to time, luckily it hasn’t happened while I draw, but it’s horrible that you don’t give one care about the people who do this. I know you have a life, and you’re doing your own thing, but PLEASE fix some things, the communities dead...

Would love to start using colors again. Could use some obvious updates so that it can take advantage of the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil.

This app is purely amazing; before I had my iPad, I simply adored the Colors!3d on the Nintendo 3DSXL, and used it daily. When I first found out that Colors! was also available on my iPad, I was thrilled and instantly purchased it, because I already knew how amazing this application was from my experiences with the 3DS version. If you happen to have a 3DS, and are trying to decide which platform to get it on, I'm certain you'll be wondering which version is superior; honestly, there are pros and cons with both versions. The 3DS version is simple to use and has all of the same features that the iPad version does, along with the added bonus of being able to create an incredible 3D effect for viewing and an autosave feature; however, the downfalls to that version lie mostly in the difficulty of doing much with your paintings, outside of uploading to the Colors! Live gallery, as while you can save them to the Camera application in higher resolution than the 3DS can display, it is very hard to enjoy your images in the Camera to their full viewing potential or to upload onto the Internet, especially if your Camera application is already very full, since the Camera will take longer to load the more pictures you have on it. The iPad version makes this process much simpler and seems to allow for easy access and viewing of the paintings you save to your Photo Gallery, along with the Colors! Live gallery being an option for uploading, of course. The main cons to the iPad version would be that it, obviously, does not have a 3D feature that the 3DS version does, nor the ability to autosave (you'll have to do that manually, and, I would suggest, frequently), and also possesses a glitch which sometimes makes all pure black colored things turn to white in playback and in exporting the painting to the Photo Gallery; however, the glitch can be managed easily by simply user an ever-so-slightly lighter shade of gray in place of the darkest black available. An issues that both versions possess is the unfortunate occasional glitch which can cause marks to appear in playback and exporting that did not exist, as well as the disappearance of parts the same way. The only solution to preventing this on both version is to frequently save, check playback, and then, if safe, make a copy to continue on for a while. If at your next point you find that there are no issues, you can delete the prior file you copied from, copy your current one, and continue to repeat the process until you're through. If you find that your current copy has the glitch occur, you can simply start again by copying your previous file and going from there. It may sound complicated, but is actually a very quick and simple method that is well worth the effort given the amazing capabilities of this app. The iPad version also sometimes crashes after you save or when you select a file, but it will never do so while you're painting or attempting to save, so no issue will be encountered there. The app possesses three brushes brushes -- charcoal, what I'd like to call airbrush, and normal -- an eraser, the ability to adjust transparency and brush size, a large color wheel, an eyedropper tool for selecting colors from your painting, the ability to add, merge, move, and delete layers, change angle of your painting from left, right, up, or down, zoom, clear the canvas, and hide layers from view. You can also import a photo from your Photo Gallery to use as background or overlay, although you cannot use the photo when uploading to the Colors! Live gallery. You can trust me when I say that this app is well worth the occasional glitch, given that I already payed $7.99 for the application on the 3DS and was so happy with it that I payed another $4.99 to buy the iPad version, as well. In short, despite its glitches, this app is easy to use, amazing and well worth the price. You won't regret the purchase.

I've had this app for the longest time. It's great. That is, if you know what you're doing. Before, I had the 3DS version (I still do), and I use that whenever I can't draw on paper and such. This app is no different. Now it's possible to draw on this app if you have experience with using a touch screen pen for your iPhone/iPad. Not to mention, when you post into the gallery from this version, people would only be able to see it when they go to the website (You might still be able to see the other version made drawings like the 3DS one on there, but still). Also, the controls can be a bit confusing. I've had no problem with it, but others might, so... In short, I give this a 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great app to use, but it may not be for everyone. So I'd think before buying. I, for one, don't regret my decision getting it.

I started off with the free version, and loved it so much that I got the paid version. The paid version comes with lots of cooler features that help out so much. It has helped we improve my drawing skills, but lately it has been glitching a lot. I'll open a new drawing and it won't let me draw in the color, showing up white, But this past week, I finally had it. I'd worked 3 hours on a drawing that I was really proud of. I went to watch the speed up drawing of it, and when I went to save it, the whole painting was white. I tried everything, but my drawing was gone. I'm really upset about this, and if you don't fix this soon I'll go find a better app.

It was one of the best drawing/painting apps, but now it doesn't let me use black. It shows white.

Ever since I started I got so much love and hope I have become a better artist and I can test my drawing styles

I love this app to death, I use it almost every single day! However, ever since I updated, I don't know when but, every time when I'm watching a speed paint the lines turn white and I can't see anything. I really do hope it gets fixed soon, because I really love/adore this app.

Replays are not showing up. Please fix this soon.

I just bought the game yesterday and downloaded the new update,it was a good app until the update brought a glitch where when you color with the black color it turns out white, so whenever my friends want to see how I made a drawing I can't, because doesn't work!

Sometimes there's a bug that makes the Transparency not work. Please fix this.

Good for drawing but it glitches up it pics and playbacks a lot when u merge layers down sometimes the colors screw up

This app is awesome but when I upload a pic it comes out messy like I drew scribbles even tho I didn't and I would LOVE more brushed hope we get these updates

the colors is was ok for iPad...since I got rid of my 3ds...but there's a problem....me and my friends was trying to do a collab...but he said it won't let him download my collab art on his 3ds...they need to update it for people use 3ds to download art from the iPad... :/

I was working on a drawing, when the app closed by itself! And all my hard work, GONE! This thing needs an auto save feature in my opinion. Because I do not want to have that happen again!

Hi I have this game on my iPad and noticed that if you leave the app without saving all progress will be deleted and on the 3ds it will save after you leave the game. And if you undo too many times one of the layers that you aren't even on will disappear.

I had this in my nds long time ago, now it's in my iPad!

I remember on the 3Ds that you could put in a picture, but on this one you can't I'm really bummed, I love the app, but PLEASE FIX. And add a mystery brush

It would be cool to have a ruler tool kind of like sketchbook.

I knew that I was supposed to be better than the last version but I just updated it and it was a mistake!!! I CAN'T OPEN IT, IT WON'T LET ME, IM FURIOUS,PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY I LOVE COLORS!

It's not the best one, but it does the job. I recommend the Nintendo 3DS version, it has a bigger community.

It's great! Much improved resolution and layers for iOS finally arrives. It looks like a few features are missing, like the photo reference layer I see in the instructions. That would be great and I look forward to that! I love the output resolution options. That said, it competes directly with my favorite sketching/painting app Sketchclub and Adobe Ideas. The old Colors! Had tapered edge options. If I had one thing to work on, I would work on emulating the "paintbrush" of Adobe Ideas and the "Sketchy" brush from Sketchclub. The way both apps begin and end lines would really give an illustrator's touch to the power of Colors! That was once seen in the pressure-sensitive app of the past. Pressure sensitivity can't be replicated, but you can make the lines feel like there's an analogue feel to it. Check out Ideas and Sketchclub. If the lines of those combined with the resolution and playback of colors you would be unstoppable! Thanks or the app!

New update crashes on iPhone 5 fixed it by deleting and reloading

Has "adjust offset" been removed? Although the new additions are welcome, but without that option the program becomes a pain to use. Also, the camera option to use picture does not appear for me.

Updating will erase some of your paintings and the time lapses and such you've saved from the gallery!!!

okay I had a 3ds and I bought the app colors!3D and it was the best purchase because of how awesome it is and the many things you can do. I don't have my 3ds anymore because of an issue so I bought it for my iPod now to compare the two i like the 3ds version better because of the more options. I really love colors and I'm not gonna say it's not worth it cause it is if you are in to drawing. But it could use an update and also since I just got the app today It won't let me access the gallery cause of some issue with the app can you fix this??>.< It wont let me upload, login, and even look at other paintings...

Love this app, but really needs updating, especially for the iPhone 5. It almost seems to be abandoned. 😞

it needs retina graphics and layers!! low-res icons make it a bit distracting and the 3DS version already has layers so why not implement it on the iphone version as well?

Please please please add a delete option for the online gallery? I've got a lot of old art I want to get rid of.

I found this application very good for painting with its huge potential in brush effects, but it really needs an update for layers. I can get around needing layers with the 1500x zoom, but it would still be nice to have so this app stands up to the 3ds version. 3 stars for not being what I payed $5 for.

This is the same as the Lite version! I assumed "iPad compatible" meant iPad size, too. FAIL!

I discovered this excellent app after seeing the new 3DS version release. I downloaded this app on my 3rd generation iPad; that's when I instantly noticed a few things. I don't mean to sound negative right out of the gate, but if it weren't for the few items I address below, this app would be truly top notch. And for the relatively high (among its peers) price of $4.99, I really wish some of the things I mention would have been addressed at this point. I was not anticipating compatibility issues in this price bracket. The first thing I noticed was that this version of the application cannot view the drawing process or save a lot of the newer art published on the online gallery. I assume this is because the newer art is coming from the 3DS version of the application and is not currently compatible until the iOS version is updated. The other issues I have are related to presentation optimization. This application does not support the retina display on iPhone, and there is not an iPad version (or just iPad compatibility). For these couple of reasons I cannot give this a full 5 star rating. Having said that, all other aspects of this application are excellent. From the intuitive, simple methods of controlling the size or opacity of the brush by tilting the device, to the fantastic re-rending process of your art, I am very pleased with this as an artistic application. I find that in its simplicity, its prowess as an easy way to draw beautiful art is exposed almost immediately. I would like to commend this app as an artistic tool, and I would really love to see it move up in compatibility with its own medium formats and the current slate of iOS devices and their capabilities. If it can do that, I'll immediately give it a 5 star review.

This is a really easy to use yet advanced drawing app. This started out as a Nintendo DS homebrew app, which I'm envious for its pressure sensitivity. But now Colors! 3D is coming to Nintendo 3DS, which I sent in my first drawing to win a free copy :) even if I don't win, I still had fun. I recommend this drawing app for its simplicity, the ability to see yours and other peoples artworks in playback mode, and the art community. Get a stylus. And if you own a Nintendo 3DS, get Colors! 3D when it comes out on the Nintendo eShop as well. Nothing beats drawing in 3D ^_^
